The major pentatonic scale is constructed using the root, second, third, fifth, and sixth degrees of the major scale. We will start with Form Four in
A major. TCB: 1. Memorize fingering (a pdf file illustrating the fingering will be included in the subsription version, available at LAGA Online).
2. Practice the sequence drills. 3. Play and say the scales in the following major keys (ascending by half step): A, B flat, B, C. Don’t forget to
recite aloud the pitch names of the scale degrees as you play through the keys.
